Before I thought of being a graphic designer, I always saw myself as a photographer. Even now, at the root of most of my work, are photographs. Incorporating my photos and photographic process into my design work is a definitive part of my personal style. Learning traditional film photography introduced me to the darkroom process and the patience it takes to manually perfect an image. One of my favorite ways to approach a design problem is to first scan my contact sheets, test strips, and prints from the darkroom, and see how I can manipulate them and incorporate them into my design work.
